Squirrel Tracks Wooden Trains is literally a “mom and pop” operation. We started STWT after buying a set of wooden trains for our 3-year-old daughter. We love trains, and eventually we learned a lot about them and uncovered some of the neatest wooden train products available today. But it took a lot of research, a lot of time, and a lot of work. We wanted to give people a quick, helpful and fun place to buy high quality trains for much less than the cost of BRIO®.

We wanted to create a place where people can get knowledgeable, helpful service from people who know and love trains and kids. A place where people can get the information they need to make confident decisions about toys for their kids. And a place to find ideas for creative play to help your child learn and explore. We wish a site like ours had been available when we bought our first train set! And, keeping that in mind, we continually strive to make our site the best resource for folks who are interested in wooden trains.

We play with kids and trains pretty much every day of the year! We are parents who know trains. And as parents we know that we all want good value for our money. That means when we buy toys for our kids we want something that's going to stand up to our kids' use, something that's going to capture their imaginations, something that they can grow and change with, something that will encourage creativity and new ideas, and something that's really fun!
